“You've got the muscle, I've got the fingers. You pick ’em. I peel ’em. We’ll have a banana feast in no time!” Mia bounced up and down.
“Guess what! Guess what! I tried a new sky loop this morning, right over the river! You will not believe what I saw!” Bonnie cried, skidding to a stop.
“I’m counting down to the next fruit trade!” Billy declared, smacking his lips with a happy grin.
“Hmm . . . that’s yummy!” Mia whispered. Her tail gave a tiny twitch.
Her long ears snapped straight up. “It’s absolutely delicious!” Rachel cried.
"Two big melons and two tiny apples for the same cup? How is that fair?" Billy rumbled.
“Thank goodness for forest coins,” Rachel said. “Carrying enough carrots for twelve cups is hard!”
“We spent twelve coins but only got back nine. That means . . . we were spending more than we earned.” Mia said.
“We can’t give you these,” Mia said, her voice shaking. “I’m so sorry. We made a mistake.”
“I’ve run my restaurant for many seasons. My restaurant-owner's ears can tell.” Billy said, a toothy grin spreading across his fuzzy face.
“We have happy customers, lots of coins, and our very own record book!” Mia said.
