Before she could say anything, Billy hurried up to the counter.
“Whew!” he puffed. “I’ve been cooking all morning!” He wiped his forehead. “Only my favorite no-mess juice can help me relax.”
Avoiding Billy’s eyes, Emery picked up a tall cup and slid it toward Billy.
“Wait!” Mia’s voice rang through the air.
The cup stopped halfway. Rachel blinked. Billy froze. Bonnie squeezed her wings tightly.
“We can’t give you these,” Mia said, her voice shaking. “I’m so sorry. We made a mistake.”
